Hi everyone. Me and my beautiful Lilly have made a few videos during the summer with plans of opening a umd store and start selling videos. I am totally new to this, i'm new in editing videos, new to making websites/store and new to selling content online. So i could use some advice from those of you that has been in the game for a while on what to do and what not to do.
I also have a few questions like, how hard/easy is it to sell content on umd?
I'm currently filming with a cell phone, should i invest in a camera?
Is it better to drop one video at the time or should i drop all videos at the same time? (i think we currently have 6 or 7 videos with photos)
When you started producing/selling content what did you do right and what do wish you had done differently?
Any advice and or suggestions that you can give me will be taken with gratitude.

Welcome to the site. You've uploaded videos before, so adding scenes to sell is basically the same process. You'd just have to open a store to sell them in. If you go to your profile and click Add Scene on the left, UMD will walk you through the whole process. I'm not always on the forum, but you can contact me by inbox if you ever get stuck.

The tech in a cell phone is probably good enough nowadays to get decent quality if you light your scene up well and put some effort into editing. The advantages of buying a separate camera seem to be vanishing each year.

You may want to stock your store with at least 10 or so vids to start, so you can at least have a store. After that, it appears that customers appreciate consistent updates more than drops of a bunch of vids.

Personally I wish I hadn't put music over my vids, but it was like 2001! I also would have backed off on the video panning and close-ups, which clips out good footage. People do not watch this stuff like they do regular movies. The more we act like cinematographers, the more obstructive and annoying we get. That's all I got!

Been thinking about this myself I tried uploading a video that wasn't messy enough however I would think it would be cool to explore video with sound but upload a video without the sound while making it an option fir example for me I love working to music but others may be looking for something more about the exposure of the colors while more about how I got to the colors.
Mud seems like the best playground without sound and unity between the viewer and the the experience.
